How We Build and Price Concrete
Gainesville Concrete Contractors pours and repairs residential concrete across Gainesville and the rest of Alachua County: driveways, patios and walkways, pool decks, stamped and decorative surfaces, slabs for garages, sheds and equipment, and repairs for concrete that has cracked, settled or worn out.
Concrete here does not fail from frost. It fails from water and the ground underneath. Gainesville averages a little over 48 inches of rain a year, most of it in summer storms, and much of the county sits on sand over limestone. When water runs under a slab, the sand moves and the slab drops. So our work starts below the surface: a firm, compacted base, a slope that sends water somewhere useful, and a thickness that fits the load.
How a job runs
- We look first. At the visit we measure, check where water goes when it rains, look for roots and soft spots, and work out why the old concrete failed.
- You get the price on paper. The quote lists removal, base, thickness, reinforcement, finish and sealing on separate lines, so you can compare it with other bids.
- Rules are checked, not guessed. Inside the city, driveways are permitted and inspected through the Department of Sustainable Development, and a driveway apron in the right-of-way has to meet the city's standards. Outside the city, Alachua County Public Works handles right-of-way connections. We confirm what your address needs.
- We say when repair is enough. If leveling or resurfacing will solve the problem, that option is on the quote next to replacement.
- You get care notes. When we finish, you get dates for walking, driving and sealing in writing.
